In the year 2003, the growing business opportunities in India in Animation, Visual FX and Gaming had created a need for high quality professionals having skills to handle International projects with ease. Organizations like NASSCOM were advocating the need for Full Time Specialized training to fulfill this requirement. ICAT – Image College of Arts, Animation & Technology was then established in 2004 with a goal to provide holistic, advanced and specialized education in various Digital Design and Media disciplines. It began by offering full time Post Graduate Diplomas in 3D Animation, Visual FX and Game Development. The shortage of specialized Game Designers paved the way for the launch of Game Design curriculum in 2006.

FTIH was in the form of IMPART MULTIMEDIA EDUCATION since 2007. It was established on a belief that a top quality education should be accessible to anyone who has passion for MULTIMEDIA. With handful achievements in Multimedia, the Board of Directors and Committee members decided to take a step forward and provide education in all streams of Media. And so the Title has been refined to FILM AND TELEVISION INSTITUTE OF HYDERABAD-FTIH.

Kakatiya University was established on 19th August, 1976 by upgrading the erstwhile Postgraduate Centre of Osmania University. The landmark event signified the fulfilment of the long-cherished aspirations of Telangana. It heralded a new era in the realm of Higher Education in the region.   The university is located in the historical city of Warangal and named after the great Kakatiya dynasty that ruled the Eastern Deccan region during the 12th and 14th centuries A.D. The university campus, spread over a sprawling area of about 672 acres, was aptly named ‘Vidyaranyapuri’ after the great sage and Sanskrit scholar, Vidyaranya, who was born in Warangal and, as the legend has it, helped to establish the famous Vijayanagara empire in 1336.
